Best month ever.

The best lap total ( number of rides) in one month was 208. Which I got in July. This month has been better. I was able to turn 251 laps this month. I'm now at 1323laps for the year . Going into August, I needed to average 185 a month to reach 2000 by the end of the year. I now need to average 170 laps per month to reach 2000 by the end of the year.

The Pit Crew signed my hat after it flew off at lap 1300. Still missing some signatures. Try again Tuesday.

1300 laps

Today I needed 28 laps to reach 1300 laps (number of rides). I did not even think I would get close. So , I did not have a 1300 sign made. I told Pit Crew member Teresa I did not have a sign. So they were able to make a sign for me. These people are awesome. Thanks to all who helped with the sign. I really appreciate your efforts everytime I get to ride the attraction.
And yes, that's my hat flying off during the ride.

Why I Love Radiator Springs Racers: The Back Story

Four years ago, I would not be able to fit on  Radiator Springs Racers. I could only visit Disneyland and California Adventure for 2 hours at a time. If I wanted to spend the day with friends or family, I would have to rent a Scotter. My knees were in bad shape. Four knee surgeries on the left knee and 3 on the right knee. The knee surgeon told me the only solution was knee replacement. He would not perform the surgery unless I lost weight. I weighed over 380 lbs.
I had gastric bypass surgery. Eleven months later and minus 150 lbs., I had double knee replacement surgery . Both knees at the same time.
Eight months later, they had preview days for Cars Land and a new ride: Radiator Springs Racers. I was scared I would not be able to bend my knees enough to fit in the backseat. There is plenty of room in front seat. I fit in the seat just fine. My first   ride, I lost my hat. They found my hat and I received it in the mail 2 days later. I went on the ride 6 times that day. Each time on the ride is called a lap. I loved the ride, especially the race.
That first half calendar year I turned 56 laps. Last year, I turned 316 laps. At 300, I had a sign and got some Pit Crew (cast members) members to take a picture with me and the sign. That is when I started to get to know the Pit Crew.
This year, I wanted to challenge myself to reach 1000 laps. I reached that goal in July.
Along the way something great happened. I became friends with the Pit Crew. We got to know each other. They encouraged and rooted fir me along the way. We have developed a bond that is hard to describe. Whenever I show up to Racers, they always have smiles and kind words. I also light up when I see them. It has also been a privilege to bake for them. They seem to like my cookies and cakes. So, I'll continue to bake for them.
I really love this group of people. I almost broke up when they celebrated my 1000 lap. I was happy to just ride with Crew members. After I came back from the 1000 lap, they gave me a piston cup and a couple pieces of art work signed by the Crew.
The Crew thought I might quit after 1000 Laps. My competitive nature told me the number to go for is 2000 laps. The Pit Crew is really pulling for me now. I don't think I would of gotten to 1000 without their support. They have made this ride that much better for me. Ka Chow

Most laps in one week

I had my best week so far on Radiator Springs Racers. I needed 4 laps  ( a lap is what they call each time on the ride) to break my record of 76 laps in 1 week. I got those 76 laps the last week in June. I was at the attraction 6 days in a row. Besides being off work on Mondays and Tuesday, I also took Thursday off. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, I went to the ride after work. Today I was coming up the single rider line and the ride broke down. I waited out the 50 minutes to cycle the power back up, I then got 5 laps to reach a new week total of 78. My lap count for the year is at 1227.
My Aunt Sandra and Uncle Grant came down from Utah with my cousin Natalie and cousin Alan and his wife Paula and kids Grant, Preston, and Lydia. They went up the single rider line a couple times. They saw how I interact with the Pit Crew members (cast members). The Pit Crew was great as usual. They really want me to get 2000 laps for the year. They always have a smile when I show up at the attraction. They also ask what lap I'm on at the time.
This photo has my Aunt Sandra in the front left seat and I'm in the back left seat.

Only was able to get 1 lap from 11am to 12pm. Single rider line was a bit crowded.
 12pm to 1pm got me 3 laps.
Then 1pm to 2pm only 2 laps.
Between 2pm and 3pm was another ride stoppage. So only 1 lap for that hour. 3pm - 4pm, only 1 lap . Single rider line crowded:(
4pm to 5pm. Only 1. Hope this won't last. 2 laps from 5pm to 6pm. This has to get better!
6pm to 7pm, 2 laps.
The ride broke down twice during the 7pm to 8pm hour. The ride is in a bad mood today. Turned 2 laps in that hour.
From 8pm to 9pm was able to turn only 1 lap. Single rider line packed.
And during the last hour was able to ride 2 times. 29 total laps for today

The Mist Machines

They installed 4 Mist Machines at Radiator Springs Racers a few weeks ago. They work pretty good in cooling off the guests. They have a fan on the inside and misters on the outside. They can operate with the fan only. When it gets too hot, the fan and misters run together. You do not get wet from the mist. They could use 1 more mister down the Fastpass/ single rider line:-)
